Why did I choose glowing crystals for a coverup? I guess I figured it had been lasered enough that I could go with something lighter in value. Unfortunately, what I didn’t understand at the time was that lasered skin can be hard to do brightly colored tattoos on- it tends to settle kind of dull and milky because of the fine grained scarring caused by the laser. At any rate, a fresh pass can make all the difference, especially after a decade of settling. His music is a trippy blend of loops and traditional instruments such as sitar, didgeridoo etc which we wanted to embody in this design- a cicada for the otherworldly music, surrounded by psychedelic plants.
